In the beginning...
Equestrian.com was established in 1992 as the Equestrian Clearance Warehouse, which started with very humble beginnings from when founder and CEO, Lorraine Meadowcroft set up a tack shop in the old corn merchants attached to her house. Spurred on from her passion for horses and everything equestrian, Lorraine found the perfect combination for career happiness and hence Equestrian Clearance was born.

The tack shop was a great success, loved by everyone for being an ‘Aladdin's Cave’ of equestrian treasures. Although not so easy to find in the hills of the Pennines, customers flocked to purchase great quality products, top brands at exceptionally affordable prices. After taking Equestrian Clearance Warehouse on the road, Lorraine soon realised that there was high customer demand, all over the country for the products she was selling. Customers continued to enquire about a mail order service so when e-commerce boom began, Lorraine took the leap to the cyber world and launched EquestrianClearance.com, now known as Equestrian.com.

Now based in Barkisland, West Yorkshire Equestrian.com has grown strength by strength and now have over 30 employees. In recent years we have been awarded the SEIB Internet Retailer of the Year by prestigious BETA Business Awards for outstanding customer service as well as picking up the ESMA ‘Best Use of Social Media by a Saddlery/Tack Shop.’

The majority of Equestrian.com employees are horse owners or have links to the equestrian world, so we are all passionate about what we do and live and breathe horses just like you. That means when you shop at Equestrian.com you will receive sound and knowledgeable advice from people that know about the right products for you, and share the same pains (rugs that can withstand the serial rug wrecker, mud fever, swarmed by flies, differing size issues between brands) whatever you need we know the products inside out.

This generous returns policy comes in handy at Christmas if you're worried that your present might not fit - they'll still have plenty of time to make sure they can exchange their present!

Equestrian.com have also been a loyal sponsor of the Equestrian.com Hickstead Derby Meeting since 2013, one of Lorraine's favourite equestrian events, and most recently have also been title sponsors of the Liverpool International Horse Show.
